PATRICK BARRY

Patrick is founder and Director of Nova Planning having previously worked as an Associate Director for WYG (now Tetra Tech), a global environmental consultancy, and as a Planning Officer at Chichester District Council. Patrick’s consultancy background and expertise is varied but lies predominantly in the residential sector where he has acted for national housebuilders on large-scale strategic developments and regional housebuilders on medium sized developments.

JACOB GOODENOUGH

Jacob joined Nova Planning in July 2018 as a Director. Jacob comes from a consultancy background having previously worked alongside Patrick at WYG (now Tetra Tech). Jacob brings expertise in the residential, commercial, leisure and energy sectors. He has a particular interest in maximising the potential of land and buildings in rural areas, specialising in projects that require a creative and bespoke approaches.

Donncha joined Nova Planning in March 2022, following a 7-year period as a Planning Manager for a developer specialising in redevelopment projects in urban areas and the Metropolitan Green Belt. In this role, Donncha developed an excellent understanding of permitted development rights relating to the conversion of commercial buildings and how best to employ these rights in planning strategies to maximise redevelopment opportunities. Donncha has also worked in Local Government as a Senior Planning Officer and Team Leader at Mole Valley District Council.  In December 2022 Donncha became a Director of Nova Planning and established the Ireland office in Cork.

CAROLINE GOULD

Caroline joined Nova Planning in January 2024 as an Associate Director, having previously held senior planning consultancy roles at Pegasus Group and WYG (now Tetra Tech), where she worked alongside Sarah, Jacob and Patrick. Caroline has a broad range of experience and expertise, acting for clients across various sectors. Her recent projects have predominantly been in the residential development sector where she has acted for national and medium-sized housebuilders.

SARAH HAINS

​Sarah joined Nova Planning in October 2021 as an Associate, having previously worked alongside Patrick and Jacob at WYG (now Tetra Tech). Sarah has also worked in Local Government, holding positions within the Development Management and Planning Policy teams at Havant Borough Council and Chichester District Council. Her roles in Planning Policy provide invaluable knowledge of the plan-making process and an ability to provide tailored advice for land promotion.

WENDY JONES

Wendy joined Nova Planning in October 2022 as Office Manager, having previously worked in education and with the armed forces. Wendy runs the administrative side of our busy office and also manages the financial aspects of the business.
